Starting this Saturday (25 July), Alina Khan will be hosting the brand-new Saturday Breakfast, live every week from 8:00am until midday on 93.3 FM, DAB+ and the RTL Play app.
Alina has already become a familiar voice to RTL Today Radio listeners through recent appearances across the station, and now she's taking the reins of Saturday mornings while Melissa Dalton begins her time away from the show.
Joining the Sam Steen Show to introduce herself to listeners, Alina said she's excited to take on her first solo programme.
"It's been so, so fun just being in the studio," she said. "Now, getting to do it on my own is going to be really exciting. It'll be a challenge as well because I've not done it by myself yet, but I'm really looking forward to it and just seeing how the day goes."
So what can listeners expect?
"I'm thinking something just to get yourself up and going on a Saturday morning," she explained. "Nothing too heavy, but definitely something to get the blood flowing and get you excited to start the weekend."
The four-hour show will feature the alternative mainstream music RTL Today Radio is known for, alongside entertainment news, weekend updates and plenty of opportunities for listeners to get involved with requests and messages throughout the morning.
As Sam Steen told listeners, it's a brand-new show, so don't be shy about getting in touch.
"If people want to get in touch with Alina on Saturday morning, do text in. It's a fresh show, so send your requests and get involved."
Joining Alina each week will be Charles, bringing the latest news to help listeners start their weekend informed and entertained.
