Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Western allies to pursue regime change in Russia, warning that Moscow’s threat to European security will persist even if the war ends.
Speaking at a conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act on Thursday, Zelensky argued that while persistent pressure could force Russia to halt its invasion, long-term stability requires political transformation in Moscow.
The Ukrainian leader also reiterated demands for tougher measures against Russia, including a full economic blockade of its military-industrial complex and the confiscation of frozen Russian assets – including those linked to corruption – to support Ukraine’s defence efforts.
