The woman attacked two passers-by in Gand (Ghent) on Sunday, according to local media. Police officers at the scene were forced to shoot at the perpetrator, injuring her.
The authorities have currently excluded any terrorist dimension to the stabbing attack, a spokesperson for the public prosecutor revealed to AFP.
According to local daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the victims were taken to hospital but are in a stable condition. Images circulating on Belgian social media show that the area in which the attack took place was closed off on Sunday evening alongside a significant police presence.
