The incident occurred three weeks ago when children reportedly ignited a banger near the woman and her horse. Following the loud noise, the woman lost control of the animal and was dragged by the reins. She was then pulled under the horse and suffered serious injuries. On Sunday, police confirmed that the 22-year-old woman had succumbed to her severe injuries in hospital.
After the incident, remnants of consumer-grade fireworks were found behind a hedge, believed to have been lit by two children aged 10 and 12. Authorities say investigations into a possible link between the firework and the fatal accident are ongoing.
