Starting with Luxembourg...

  • The latest figures from the Ministry of Health show that 201 cases of coronavirus were discovered over the last 24 hours.

  • The number of new coronavirus infections in Luxembourg started increasing five days after the National Day celebrations, with infection clusters having been detected in three nightclubs in the capital.
  • While the number of weekly new infections was still on the decline around early June, figures have been steadily increasing again since the end of the month and particularly also since early July. In the week of 28 June to 4 July, the number of new infections in the Grand Duchy increased from 107 to 787 cases.

  • In the last six months of the pandemic, the municipality of Luxembourg City has registered almost as many new dogs as it usually does during a whole year, but shelters are bracing themselves for a massive return of adopted pets.
