At 9.30am on Tuesday morning, some hundred metres away from the Luxembourg/France border, two mobile reporters witnessed the bizarre aftermath of an accident between a car and a lorry.
A grey Opel Corsa was crossing from the right lane to the left when it hit a stationary lorry, close to Zoufftgen. The two young men in the car quickly got out of their vehicle and ran away, climbing over the barriers and leaving the car in the middle of the motorway.
Police on site could only note the absence of the two youths.
A traffic jam exceeding 4 kilometres ensued on the A31, but cleared up by 11.30am.
