German border police intercepted a 19-year-old Romanian woman on the BAB 64 motorway (connecting to Luxembourg’s A1) during Pentecost Sunday checks.

The suspect, wanted by French authorities for alleged child abduction, was travelling with her two children aged one and three, plus two adult Romanian nationals.

The arrest stems from accusations that the woman removed her children from French foster care under circumstances that allegedly compromised their welfare. According to official statements, the group had travelled from France through Luxembourg before being stopped in Germany.

Following the intervention, German authorities released the two adult passengers while transferring the mother and children to protective custody. The case documents are being prepared for extradition to French judicial authorities.
