The body was discovered in the covered car park at Arlon train station on Sunday morning, according to a statement from the Luxembourg province public prosecutor's office in Belgium on Tuesday.
Officials confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. Both have been charged with murder and placed in pre-trial detention.
The victim, a man born in 1987 and originally from Bastogne, was quickly identified by investigators. Early findings from the investigation indicate that the man’s death involved the intervention of a third party.
An autopsy has been conducted. Initial results show the man sustained multiple violent blows to the head, which caused his death, though final conclusions from the medical examination have yet to be released.
Several searches and arrests have been carried out by the Arlon police district and the Federal Judicial Police of Luxembourg (Belgian province) as part of the ongoing investigation.
The investigation remains under way as authorities seek to determine the precise circumstances of the incident.
