Following the formal ceremony in front of the Grand Ducal Palace, President Stubb and his wife meet with the Grand Ducal couple. The presidential couple will then lay a wreath at the eternal flame, honouring those who have died in service.
As part of the official itinerary, President Stubb will hold separate meetings with President of the Chamber of Deputies Claude Wiseler, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, and Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. These discussions centre on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing current European issues.
The programme also includes a luncheon, followed by an academic session at Luxembourg City Hall. President Stubb visits both the European Investment Bank and the European Court of Justice, reflecting Finland and Luxembourg’s shared commitment to European institutions. The first day concludes with a gala dinner at the palace.
On Wednesday, the state visit continues with tours of the University of Luxembourg’s Belval campus and the SES headquarters in Betzdorf, underscoring ongoing economic and academic cooperation between Luxembourg and Finland.
