According to the latest figures published by Public Health France on Sunday, 2,064 patients have died in the Grand Est region since 1 March.
56 patients passed away from Saturday to Sunday, with figures showing no increase on the previous day. This would indicate that the pandemic is finally stabilising in the region, as the number of patients in intensive care is also slowly reducing (878 compared to 881 the previous day).
4,887 patients are still in hospital, but the number of patients who have been discharged has risen by 144 over the weekend, with 4,725 people now at home after recovering from the virus.
The departments of Haut-Rhin, Vosges and Moselle have been most strongly affected by Covid-19 and experienced a number of deaths in March which was almost twice as high as in March 2019.
