
More than 10,000 regional inhabitants work in the Grand Duchy. While the phenomenon is certainly not a new one, the tendency is still continuously increasing. The survey launched by the city of Metz can be accessed online (until 10 April) and addresses the inhabitants of the city, as well as 43 nearby municipalities. First results are supposed to be published in May.
The municipality of Metz has also created a new section on its website, which informs people about the current regulations for cross-border workers. The site includes the following five sections:
1. Transportation, which elaborates on different ways of accessing the Grand Duchy, as well as the most affordable ways of doing do.
2. Employment, which enlists minimum wage, contract types, and administrative procedures.
3. Health, which elaborates on insurance procedures, holiday regulations, and useful contacts.
4. Family, which enlists benefits, administrative procedures, and support services.
5. Fiscal system, which provides information on tax regulation.
