According to regional health agency (ARS) and the Grand Est prefecture, a total of 4,712 patients were hospitalised last Friday. This number dropped to 4,702 people on Saturday, marking a decrease for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The number of new infections, however, keeps increasing. More than 1,400 people have been killed by the virus in the Grand Est region.
The number of patients in intensive care has also slightly dropped: 960 on Sunday as opposed to 971 on Saturday.
