Let’s start with the story that made us smile Friday morning: when a fire started in Grevenmacher (it ends well, don’t worry), a brave neighbour took it upon himself to help extinguish it while the owners sought refuge after having called the fire brigade. In an act of heroism that deserves to be shared at least once (or twice), he succeeded in putting out the fire, which left firefighters with taking an inventory of the place and ensuring the house was well ventilated. Well done!
We won’t lie, we hesitated on whether or not to share this news first. In an act that should benefit millions of French people, Emmanuel Macron announced a decrease in income tax. The Minister of Public Accounts confirmed the good news on Friday. The changewill have to be put in place by January 2020, and all the better for that!
We continue with our unusual video of the week that arrived on Thursday. In Switzerland, a young man decided to take up a challenge that was, to say the very least, eccentric: he was going to try and get flashed by a radar through running. And guess what? He succeeded! The video went viral and even made local authorities enjoyed it (they do not intend to pursue him – and good luck with it if they had!). Conclusion: no transgressions, a small record and a lot of laughs on the web. Huzzah!
Next we make a small trip to Hungary to take a look at the headway the Luxembourgish delegation made at the Table Tennis World Championship. Although Sarah De Nutte was eliminated on Tuesday, she did so with a notable achievement under her belt and the success of making world number one Ding Ning doubt her spot at the top.

Prince Louis celebrated his first birthday this week, which provided Kensington Palace with the rare opportunity to share some pictures of the toddler who is, quite frankly, adorable. If he can’t make you smile, we give up!
Finally, we conclude our report by putting a spotlight on the Télévie fundraiser: a worthy cause that ultimately ended up being a beautiful day of public engagement and show of solidarity. You can see the entire day’s events on RTL Today: a collection of photos, videos, and speeches will leave you well satiated in terms of positive news..

We leave you, as always, with a feel good track music and hope you had a great weekend!
We’ll be back for more good news next Sunday!
