By the end of Saturday, Télévie 2019 had managed to beat its previous record by €331,000! The grand total raised in 2019 was €2,005,842! RTL expresses its gratitude on behalf of all those who are directly or indirectly affected by the disease, and thanks more particularly those who made it possible to reach this record-breaking amount in 2019.
Télévie’s aim is to raise money for cancer research. Many types of cancer still lack effective treatment, despite progress made in recent years. In the last months, the whole country has mobilised for the 18th time to continue the battle against the disease.

This year’s edition of Télévie kicked off at 7pm on Friday, and ran until late on Saturday night. Funds collected throughout the year, and donations made from Friday to Saturday, were displayed on the live counter throughout the day.

All day Saturday, people were encouraged to visit any of the pledge centres - Wilwerwiltz (Kiischpelt), Junglinster, Mersch, Schifflange and the Centre de Promesses (Centre of Promises) in Rodange. These were home to a number of activities in support of the Télévie initiative. RTL’s seat in Kirchberg will also have a pledge centre for the day.
