
A deep fat fryer caused the conflagration, which quickly affected surrounding furniture. Both inhabitants were able to leave the property and alert the emergency services soon after the fire started.
A neighbour helped to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher before the emergency services arrived, preventing the fire from spreading any further.

Fire fighters focused on ventilating the building, while Grevenmacher municipality intervened to help the inhabitants find somewhere to stay, as they were not allowed to return to the property. Although no one was hurt, there was considerable material damage.
