The 51 year old suspect was arrested in the town of Rijeka, in the North of the country. “He killed his dog by hitting it in the head with a hammer” in the court of a building, according to a statement.
He was drunk and carried several grams of ketamin, a “party drug”, according to the same source .
During the police interrogation, he damaged furniture and equipment.
The man, who was on holiday in Croatia, was put in temporary detention and charges pressed for “murder and abuse of an animal” and “degradation of another’s property”.
