https://5minutes.rtl.lu/actu/frontieres/a/1458899.htmlThe legal support group of the A31 motorway department in Moulins-lès-Metz has asked for witnesses to contact them on +33 3 87 60 02 60 with information pertaining to the accident, which occurred near Woippy in the direction Thionville - Metz.

According to the Républicain Lorrain, the 18 year old victim who died in the accident was driving a Volkswagen Polo when it was struck from behind by a black BMW 1 series.

The impact was such that the Polo was thrown against the crash barrier before rolling on to its roof. Two other vehicles crashed into the car as a result, a Peugeot 208 and a Renault Laguna.

Help arrived too late for the young man, who passed away at the scene of the accident. His 25 year old passenger suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Nancy by helicopter.

The Renault driver was left with minor injuries. The BMW occupants will be questioned by investigators after the driver was taken into custody. The passenger also suffered minor injuries.

The authorities hope to discover more about the BMW’s behaviour prior to the accident, and the reaction after, although any other information regarding the circumstances of the accident is useful.
