On Sunday, the health authorities of Trier-Saarburg district reported 20 new infections, with six coming from the city of Trier and 14 from the surrounding area.

One elderly woman has died of Covid-19 in the Trier-Saarburg district, raising total fatalities in the district to 75, according to reports in local media.

The total number of infections since 11 March has increased to 4,101 (1,525 from the city of Trier and 2,576 from the surrounding area), reports local news site lokalo.de. The 7-day average of cases per 100,000 people has slightly risen to 87 in Trier and 91 in the district.

However, the number of active infections has fallen to 388 – a decrease of 38 since Saturday.

Currently, 39 patients from the Trier-Saarburg district are in hospital care.

On Monday, the 15th round of new restrictions come into force, and will provisionally last until 31 January. The full details of new measures can be found on www.corona.rlp.de or www.trier-saarburg.de.

The local health authorities recommend that residents comply with the current rules and act responsibly, including by observing public health guidance indoors. This includes social distancing, face coverings, frequently airing rooms, washing and disinfecting hands and limiting social contacts to a strict minimum.

If a member of a household tests positive, shows symptoms, or has been in contact with an infected person, all members of that household have to self-isolate.
