Police say a wallaby has been on the run in western Berlin since Sunday morning.
Chief Inspector Martin Halweg told The Associated Press on Monday that the local police force was no longer tracking the animal as it was not believed to represent a risk to the public.
It is thought the wallaby belongs to a private owner. The circumstances of its escape are unclear.
A video posted on Facebook showed the animal hopping down a dark road and stopping to lick its paws as a woman expresses surprise.
Halweg said such cases were rare and that he had not come across a runaway kangaroo or wallaby in three decades of police work.
Here in the Grand Duchy, RTL readers may remember the case of Sammy, a runaway wallaby who traversed Luxembourg after escaping his owner's home in June 2024.
