Authorities are investigating a Tesla Cybertruck explosion that claimed one life and injured seven outside of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Day, as the FBI explores potential links to the recent attack in New Orleans.
One person has died in a vehicle explosion outside of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Inside the exploded vehicle – a Tesla Cybertruck – a person who had succumbed to severe burns was found in the driver's seat. Their gender remains unidentified at this time.
According to the sheriff, seven other individuals sustained injuries in the incident. Authorities also revealed that the vehicle was loaded with fuel cans and fireworks.
The FBI is investigating the possibility of a terrorist attack. US President Joe Biden stated that officials are examining any potential links to the recent attack in New Orleans, which claimed 15 lives. However, no evidence has yet emerged to suggest a connection.
Eric Trump, in a post on X, reassured the public about the safety of his clients and staff, thanking firefighters and police for their swift response.

Police noted that the structural design of the Cybertruck "helped mitigate the damage", as the blast wave was directed upward. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also clarified on X that the explosion was not caused by the vehicle itself but by fireworks within it, which triggered the blast.
