A woman in her forties was fatally stabbed on Wednesday in Metz, with her ex-partner and his new companion subsequently arrested, sources confirmed on Thursday.
The attack occurred in a house in Metz around 2:15 PM, according to police sources.
The victim, born in 1982, was found with multiple stab wounds, as confirmed by Yves Badorc, the public prosecutor of Metz.
At the scene, police arrested her ex-partner, born in 1984, who had blood stains on him, along with his new companion. Both were placed in police custody.
The man was previously known to authorities for domestic violence. The local crime department has taken charge of the investigation.
According to official statistics, 118 women were killed by a partner or ex-partner in 2022, and 122 in 2021.
