A motorist’s onboard camera captured the scene after being dangerously close to the slaloming car. In the video published on social networks on Friday, we first see a police van pulling into the middle lane, followed by a Luxembourg-registered BMW swerving along the motorway until it collides with the police vehicle.

According to our information, this was the accident that disrupted traffic on the A31 towards Thionville on Friday night. Road signs in the video are indeed recognisable, indicating the direction of traffic (Talange, Thionville, Luxembourg, Longwy). The ITLF (Info Traffic Lorraine et Frontières) reports that the collision occurred at around 9.30 pm near the Hauconcourt exit.

The Internet user who posted the footage on social networks remarked that the motorist “was after the police, that one”. It should be noted that, at this stage, we cannot know whether this was a deliberate act or an accident linked to a loss of control of the vehicle.

The video was filmed from a Tesla, explains the internet user who came close to colliding with the same driver. “He nearly hit me, the car filmed itself”, he wrote on Facebook. Another user claims to have spent 20 minutes in traffic following the accident.

We do not have any details of injuries, at the moment, but we do know that this accident led to an additional collision a few minutes later. A French-registered Hyundai rammed into a car before being hit in turn by a Toyota travelling behind it.
