FLOODING - The rain has not stopped and the red alert due to the risk of flooding has been extended. Since late yesterday afternoon the alert also applies to the Moselle. The flood control centre made another update on the flood situation in the country yesterday evening. They said the levels of the Alzette and most of the tributaries were about to drop but local showers could raise the levels again and cause the river to overflow. New is the potential risk of flooding on the Moselle.
The level will rise in the coming days. The maximum will probably be reached tomorrow morning and will be between 5.7 and 6.10 metres in Stadtbredimus.
The flood warning from Meteolux is still valid until midnight tonight. A red alert applies to the southern half of the country and an orange alert for the north.
