Travellers entering Germany and coming from a risk zone, including Luxembourg, must electronically register themselves prior to their trip. This new measure implemented by the German government has come into force this week.
The site www.einreiseanmeldung.de is available in numerous languages and aims to trace your contact and travels over the last 10 days.
Individuals spending less than 24 hours in the country are exempt from filling in the form. Cross-border workers, care staff, students as well as those visiting family and partners do not have to register nor self-quarantine if their stays are this short.
As of Sunday 8 November, travellers coming from risk areas must go into obligatory quarantine for a period of 10 days. This can only be shortened if on the fifth day of return the individual presents a negative covid-19 test.
