Police spokespersons from Rheinland-Pfalz have stated that investigations are underway after a young person was admitted to A&E after suffering life-threatening injuries.
According to reports in German local media, the 17-year-old boy is thought to have been involved in a ‘scuffle’ with two unknown men in a schoolyard in Cochem.
Witnesses have stated that the men suddenly appeared at the party and fired ‘warning shots’ in order to intimidate the guests.
It is still unclear whether the young person was hit on purpose or was injured accidentally.
The police have not added any further information at this time.
