In spite of an overall drop in the number of hospitalisation and patients in intensive care, 41 deaths were recorded due to coronavirus on Monday.
Although the region appears to have passed the peak of the pandemic, the number of fatalities is still high, recording 2,463 deaths to date.
On Monday, it was reported the virus had ravaged a nursing home in Meurthe-et-Moselle, killing 22 of the 51 residents. Although the majority of victims in the region were aged 60 or over, around 100 people who have died due to Covid-19 were under 60.
65 of these were aged between 50 and 59, while two victims were in their twenties and 13 in their thirties. These victims appear to have been omitted from local news headlines.

The figures provided by the agency do not give further details concerning the younger victims, so it is not known whether these patients suffered from pre-existing conditions, or if their deaths were wholly caused by the virus.
