
Both animals are doing well and the Amnéville zoo has published the first pictures and videos over the weekend.
The rhino calf, baptised as Cera, passed its first medical exam on Tuesday and weighs 84 kilograms. It is the second rhino calf born at the zoo in a short period of time, the last one being a male called Mosl, born in October 2021.
The white rhinoceros has long been classified as endangered due to frequent attacks by poachers.
