Unique of its kind, ESRIC aims to become “the internationally recognised centre of expertise for scientific, technical, business and economic aspects related to the use of space resources for human and robotic exploration, as well as for a future in-space economy.”

As a department within LIST during the first phase, it will partner with public and private international players in this field in order to create a hub of excellence for space resources in Europe.

The European Space Resources Innovation Centre was launched in August 2020 as a joint venture by the LSA and LIST. It will be joined by the European Space Agency (ESA) as a strategic partner by the end of the year.
