Authorities in Luxembourg reported a series of separate incidents on Tuesday, including a theft, two burglaries, and cases of drink-driving.

In Luxembourg City, a coordinated theft occurred near Place Guillaume II. The victim was bumped into by two individuals, who used the distraction to steal a mobile phone. The victim discovered the loss only afterwards. A police search of the area proved unsuccessful, and an investigation is ongoing.

Separately, two burglaries were reported on the same day. In the early evening, perpetrators gained access to a flat in a multi-family building via its terrace, making off with cash and jewellery. Later that night, in Lamadelaine, two individuals broke into a single-family home on Rue de la Maragole through a window. They were surprised by a resident, grabbed jewellery, and fled. In both instances, the suspects remain at large.

Drink-driving incidents

Police also dealt with two cases of drink-driving overnight. The first occurred at around 1.25am on Wednesday on Avenue de la Gare, where officers observed a car travelling in a bus lane and running a red light. The driver subsequently failed a breathalyser test.

Several hours later, at approximately 3.10am, another vehicle was seen driving extremely slowly near the junction of Route d’Arlon and Rue Henri Kirpach. The driver initially failed to comply with a police signal to stop before eventually pulling over. A breathalyser test also returned a positive result, leading to a temporary driving ban.
