The woman has been in pre-trial detention for a year and stands accused of stealing around €380,000 from 10 elderly victims over a period of seven years, from 2014 to 2021.
The woman is also accused of having stolen jewellery and other valuable items from her victims. She spent time living with her victims, either by herself or with some of her eight children. Some of her victims, the majority of whom were elderly men, have since passed away.
During the trial, a man testified in court that his 80-year-old father had been a victim of her actions. Within months, the old man had distanced himself from his own family. The accused had told him that she needed a new kidney.
The woman will also have to pay €87,900 to the two civil parties of her victims.
