On Thursday, police were called out to Ettelbruck train station at around 3pm after an argument erupted between several young people. According to initial reports, two men had a disagreement.
One of the two pulled out an iron bar and tried to hit the other with it.
A witness and a security guard intervened and separated the two. Both men were taken to the police station to clarify the situation, while the weapon and other evidence were seized.
Officers also found a small amount of hashish during a body search.
Shortly before 6pm, another fight was reported at Place du Théâtre in Luxembourg City, where one individual tried to assault another with a glass bottle. The police were able to resolve the fight at the scene.
However, the attacker, under the influence of alcohol, refused to leave the premises and displayed uncooperative behaviour towards police, and consequently spent the night in custody.
In Esch-sur-Alzette, police were called out to the emergency department of the hospital due to a man behaving aggressively and refusing to cooperate with staff. He underwent medical checks and was taken into custody to sober up.
During a body search, officers found cocaine on his person.
At 11.20pm, another fight broke out between two people in Rue du Brill in Foetz. A highly intoxicated woman refused to leave the scene, so police took her for medical checks and made her spend the night in a cell to sober up.
