
As of Monday 15 July, diesel costs €1.508/litre everywhere in Luxembourg – far cheaper than its neighbouring countries.
In the Moselle region of France, the price difference can reach around 16 cents per litre. Diesel is around €1.665 per litre in Fameck (Leclerc), going up to €1.669 in Amnéville (Leclerc) and €1.67 in Rombas (Leclerc again). In Thionville, Carrefour and Leclerc charge around €1.676 per litre, as well as €1.679 in Clouange (Super U). In the Metz area, the price sits at around €1.698 (Auchan Metz and Leclerc Marly).
In Belgium, diesel is around €1.81 per litre, while across the border in Germany it is between €1.679 and €1.759 in the area around Trier.
The price differences are similar for petrol, where Luxembourg offers the most advantageous price for SP95 at €1.585 per litre.
In France, unleaded petrol is around €1.745 in Fameck (Leclerc) and €1.749 in Hauconcourt and Amnéville (Leclerc), rising to €1.758 in Thionville (Carrefour, Leclerc) and Marly (Leclerc). In Clouange, Super U offers petrol at €1.759, while the closer you are to Metz, you have to pay at best €1.789 (Auchan).
Similar prices are observed in Belgium and Germany, with petrol costing €1.778 in Arlon and €1.859 in Trier.
