RTL Today
The Deputy PM and Minister of Internal Security was a guest on RTL Radio on Wednesday morning.

During an interview on RTL Radio on Wednesday morning, Minister of Internal Security François Bausch stated that the government does not want a police state.

Police would instead observe and denounce if the stricter Covid regulations are being respected without violating people's privacy.

Bausch stated that police could open investigations and it would then be up to the accused to prove that they have not done anything wrong. If they are not able to do that, they will be fined.

Bausch stressed that this was not about repression, but about individual responsibility which helps to get the pandemic under control.

The politician from the Green Party also commented on the recent unfavourable polling results for his party, stating that the was taking them seriously. However, Bausch explained that there was enough time left in the current legislative period to finish up projects and convince voters of green politics.

The minister also admitted that there had been internal mistakes in the past but went on to say that his party had moved on and was ready for the future with a new, younger team.
