President Romain Wolff was a guest on RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg on Monday morning and elaborated on his union’s demands.

For the most part he was happy with the answers provided by the country’s political parties. But he also emphasised that he would wait and see what actually happens after the elections.

As an example, Wolff stated that the government had agreed to drop the rating system during their last negotiations, but not in the army. Fokus is the only party who is willing to negotiate a new rating system. But at CGFP the topic is now done.

The union also insists on the readjustment for inflation of the taxation rate, even if this benefits people with higher revenues more than people with lower income. For Wolff, salaries are taxed too highly while personal assets aren’t taxed enough.

The financial sector should not be the sole force behind the country’s growth, said Wolff.

Other demands from the union were rejected by some parties. For example, the Pirate Party wants to reform indexation by capping it at 3,5 times the minimum wage.
