According to initial reports, the victims were approached by three individuals who demanded cash.
When the victims refused, the three attacked them and pushed them to the ground before stealing various valuables, including two mobile phones and cash.
Police immediately started a search for the perpetrators, but have been unable to locate them thus far. An investigation has since been launched.
The attack comes only a day after two young people were violently mugged near Monterey Park in the capital.
