At gunpoint the police officers then realised that knives were involved - two people had threatened the others by pulling out their weapons, as compiled in the police report.

The police commanded the agitators to yield their knives and to lay on the ground, which they did. Out of security reasons the officers proceeded to mobilise the suspects, yet one of them resisted and kicked the policemen.

Shortly afterwards the two aggressors were on their way to the police office. The knives were confiscated.

Further altercations in Clausen

Another fight was started around 2.25am on early Sunday morning. In the Rives de Clausen near the Margot Libens-Reiffers bridge, policemen witnessed how one man beat another man’s face with his fist.

The officers ran towards the scene and called out to the aggressor to stop. He quickly obeyed and ran away.

The police were able to capture him although there were further violent exchanges between them and the seized aggressor. The man had not only drunk too much, he was also a danger to himself and others, so he was admitted to the drunk tank to sober up.
