RTL Today
Around 6.40pm on Sunday, two young men were attacked, threatened, and robbed by a group of football supporters from the opposing team following a game in Differdange.

The victims were assaulted in their car, which was stationed in a car park on Avenue du Parc des Sports in Differdange.

The driver was punched through the open window and had his cap stolen. A supporter’s flag and drum sticks were also stolen from the vehicle after the passenger was pulled out of the vehicle by a young man wearing a balaclava.

Finally, one of the rear-view mirrors was destroyed by a blow from an object not specified by authorities.

The assailants were identified by the police and an investigation has been opened by order of the public prosecutor’s office. A criminal complaint was filed against the suspects.

In light of the assault, FC Differdange 03 put out a statement to explicitly “distance itself from such an event even without having knowledge, for the moment, of the detailed course of the situation or the identity of the presumed culprits”.
