The Esch municipal administration announced on Tuesday that video surveillance will soon be implemented in the Brill and Al Esch districts. This move comes after the Minister for Home Affairs, Léon Gloden, issued a ministerial order dated 16 October, authorising the installation of surveillance cameras in these areas.

Meanwhile, the advisory Human Rights Commission has questioned the installation of additional cameras, challenging both the necessity and the proportionality of the measures.
