Road users and residents should prepare for upcoming connection and infrastructure works affecting multiple streets in Luxembourg City, leading to temporary road closures, traffic adjustments, and public transport changes.

The City of Luxembourg would like to inform citizens and road users that connection works will take place at No. 2, Rue Joseph Junck, from Monday 7 April (7am) to Monday 21 April (5am), 2025.

The Municipal Administration has provided the following information on the impact of these works:

  • Rue Joseph Junck will be blocked between Place de la Gare and building No. 2 on Rue Joseph Junck
  • Traffic will be prohibited – except for residents and suppliers – on Rue Joseph Junck, between Place de la Gare and Rue de Reims
  • Traffic will be prohibited – except for vehicles indicated by signal D, 10, and the additional sign in accordance with model 6aa – at Place de la Gare, between Rue d’Epernay and Rue Joseph Junck

Appropriate signage will be in place.

Additionally, works will be carried out on Rue de Bonnevoie, between Avenue de la Gare and Place Wallis, from Monday 7 April (5am) to Saturday 19 April (5pm), 2025.

These works will involve implementing a one-way system on Rue de Bonnevoie, from Avenue de la Gare towards and up to Rue du Fort Neipperg, throughout the duration of the works.

Additionally, the following changes to public transport should be noted:
• Lines 2, 9: Heading towards Boulevard Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Wallis Quai 3 stop will be removed.
Replacement stop: Avranches Quai 1, located in front of 6, Boulevard d’Avranches.

• Lines 3, 5, 33, CN8: Heading towards Boulevard Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Wallis Quai 1 stop will be removed.
Replacement stop: Avranches Quai 1, located in front of 6, Boulevard d’Avranches.

• Line 7: Heading towards Bonnevoie, Baden-Powell, the Wallis Quai 1, Gare Centrale Quai 2, and Léon XIII Quai 3 stops will be removed.
Replacement stops: Gare Rocade Quai 2; Rotonde Quai 2; Léon XIII Quai 2

• Line 27: Heading towards Gare Centrale, the Lavoisier Quai 2, Laboratoire Quai 2, and Wallis Quai 1 stops will be removed.
Replacement stops: Temporary Laboratoire stop (Rue du Laboratoire); Avranches Quai 1, located in front of 6, Boulevard d’Avranches.

• Line 29: Heading towards Gare Centrale, the Wallis Quai 1 and Gare Centrale Quai 2 stops will be removed.
Replacement stop: Gare Rocade Quai 2.

Finally, infrastructure works will be carried out on Boulevard Pierre Dupong (Parc de Merl) from Monday 7 April (7am) to Saturday 12 April (4pm), 2025.

These works will involve the following adjustments throughout the duration of the project:

  • Implementation of a one-way system on Boulevard Pierre Dupong, from Rue Conrad 1er towards Avenue du Dix Septembre.

  • A traffic ban on Rue Conrad 1er.

Appropriate signage will be in place.

Additionally, the following changes to public transport should be noted during the works: heading towards Merl-Celtes, Line 12 will be diverted via Avenue du X Septembre, Place de France, and Rue Giselbert. The Athénée Quai 2 stop will be removed and replaced by a temporary stop at 37, Rue Giselbert.
