The unemployment rate is now 5.5% - the highest it has been since September 2021. At the time, the rate was directly linked to the impact of the Covid pandemic. Now, the construction and energy crises are to blame.
The numbers are rising across all categories, ADEM said, with increases observed among people aged under 30, as well as qualified jobseekers with higher education diplomas. All sectors are affected, with catering, secretarial services, accounting and other industries all strongly impacted.
The number of new unemployment claims also rose in September, with 3,141 residents registering last month - an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period in 2022.
Around 70 Ukrainian refugees registered with ADEM to search for jobs in September.
At present, ADEM has around 9,000 vacancies listed.
