
Prime Minister Luc Frieden on Tuesday will host his Ukrainian counterpart, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, at Senningen Castle for bilateral talks. Shmyhal, who will be accompanied by Ukraine’s Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko and Justice Minister Denys Maliuska, is later scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel to sign a cooperation and finance accord.
The two heads of government will also have the opportunity to continue their discussions at an official lunch attended by Luxembourg’s Defence Minister Yuriko Backes, Finance Minister Gilles Roth, and Justice Minister Elisabeth Margue. According to an official press release, discussions will focus on the current situation in Ukraine, Luxembourg’s support for the war-torn nation, and relations between Ukraine and the European Union and NATO.
During his visit to Luxembourg, Shmyhal will also be granted an audience with Grand Duke Henri at the Palace and meet with Chamber President Claude Wiseler, as well as Nadia Calviño, the president of the European Investment Bank.
