Police had to step in twice on Sunday over altercations that got out of hand, first in Hunsdorf and then in Differdange.

In both cases, those involved had left the scene before patrols arrived. Investigations have been opened.

The first incident took place at around 4.10pm at a playground on Rue Pierre-Mergen in Hunsdorf.

According to initial reports, an unleashed dog had run towards several children. An adult who was present approached the animal's owner and an argument ensued.

Tensions quickly escalated: the dog owner allegedly pushed the man and then struck him in the face with a leash, causing an injury.

The suspect had already fled by the time police arrived, and an immediate search failed to track him down.

That same evening, a second altercation was reported near a primary school in Differdange, following a football match.

Two men reportedly came to blows, with one of them injured as a result. Here, too, the suspect had left the scene before officers arrived.

Moments later, a further dispute linked to the same incident broke out between the victim and another individual.

Police managed to defuse the situation on the spot. The injured man was seen by emergency services before being taken to hospital for further checks.

Official reports have been filed in both cases, and investigations are ongoing.
