The first incident occurred around 7.30pm in Cité Grand-Duc Jean, Bereldange, where police were alerted to an accident involving a motorist colliding with a lamppost. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle abandoned at the scene, with the driver having fled on foot. The police managed to locate the driver and escorted them to the police station for further assessment.
At the police station, the driver underwent testing for alcohol and drugs, yielding negative results. However, it was revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid licence, leading to the issuance of a penalty notice by the authorities.
Later in the night, around 2am, another incident unfolded in Warken, as a motorist crashed into a parked car. Upon inspection by responding officers, the driver tested positive for alcohol consumption. To make matters worse, it was discovered that the driver had been previously banned from driving by the court, and the vehicle lacked a valid roadworthiness certificate and insurance. Consequently, the police seized the vehicle.
