The first motorist was pulled over during a speed check on the N11 near Altrier, where he was travelling at 144km/h instead of the 70 km/h speed limit. Despite police signalling the driver with lights and sirens, the man continued on his journey, until the patrol car succeeded in pulling him over. A subsequent breathalyser test returned positive results, leading officers to issue a temporary driving ban.
In the capital, another motorist was stopped on Boulevard Robert Schuman overnight due to speeding. This driver was also found to be over the legal alcohol limit, and also failed to cooperate with police officers. As a result, he had his licence removed.
