The police were able to find both men thanks to descriptions given by the residents of the home. The men were wearing high-visibility construction clothes and attempted to gain access to the house through a window.
They were caught in the act by residents, at which point the burglars fled in a car with French number plates. The police stopped the vehicle in Pontpierre, arresting the men and seizing the vehicle. It transpired that the car was neither insured nor registered.
