Luxtram reported that construction works for the tram are moving at a fast pace between place de l’Étoile and the central railway station.

The second phase of works began in July and covers the platform construction and the laying of tracks on avenue de la Liberté.

In order to minimise the inconvenience to the public, Luxtram is taking advantage of the summer holidays to complete work around the busier intersections of the city.

However, Luxtram encountered an obstacle on boulevard Royal, waiting for the release of the building rights of way, which are currently occupied by two building sites.

The delays caused by these building sites has postponed the tram construction work in this section. Luxtram said they are doing everything possible to guarantee the four new stations will enter into service by the end of 2020.
