A total o 198 cases were opened by the public prosecutor's office in the past five years, most of which were dismissed, while 22 resulted in convictions. 19 of these convictions were handed down in the first instance, with a further three upheld on appeal.
The ministers highlighted ongoing awareness and prevention campaigns aimed at promoting civil courage and educating the public on how to react appropriately when witnessing someone in danger.
