Luxtram has confirmed that a tram derailed around 11pm on Wednesday at the Cloche d’Or intersection after colliding with a bus. Although material damage occurred, no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at the crossroads of Boulevard Kockelscheuer and Boulevard Raiffeisen. The 45-metre-long tram brought traffic to a standstill as it came off the rails.
Emergency crews worked for several hours overnight, using a special convoy and crane to return the tram to its tracks. Tram services were able to operate according to regular schedule by Thursday morning.
