According to initial information, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree on the opposite side of the road.
Emergency services treated the driver at the scene before transporting them to hospital by ambulance for precautionary checks. The injuries are believed to be minor.
The N8 was briefly closed to allow emergency crews to secure the scene, leading to traffic congestion in the early morning hours on both the N8 and the A7.
Traffic has since fully resumed.
