In fact, the press release was a joint statement by the OGBL and the Association of Police Officers with a Secondary Education Diploma (ADESP). In the statement, the ADESP listed numerous grievances within the police corps, which the trade union says increasingly lead officers to content with "work to rule" because they had lost their "initial idealism".

Police officers who draw their gun on duty or sustain injuries can neither rely on support from the directorate, nor from internal services, the ADESP stated. For this reason, more experienced officers try to avoid ending up in these situations in the first place. In addition, the "long promised" recognition and career improvements are still nowhere to be seen, the Association criticises. Instead, there are "drastic differences" regarding pensions, and promotion prospects within the police force are "limited".

In this context, the ADESP also brings up the appeals lodged against the 2018 police reform at the administrative court again. Since the verdicts are expected for 2022 at the earliest, the responsible ministers remain passive, the Association laments.
